20 rock stars then and now

Whatever happened to our favorite rock stars of the 1960's and 70's? Many are still going strong on the road, touring night after night across the land. They may be getting older but they can still draw a crowd of their silver-haired fans. To quote one of the singers appearing on this list, they're "too old to rock and roll but too young to die." (Bonus points to the readers that know who sang that line.) Here are 20 of these great artists, then and now.

Steve Perry of Journey

David Lee Roth of Van Halen

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin

Peter Gabriel of Genesis and solo fame

Bruce Springsteen

Elton John

Alice Cooper

Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull

Ted Nugent

Paul McCartney

 Eric Clapton

Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith

Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones

Neil Young

Meatloaf

Bob Dylan

Linda Ronstadt

Ozzy Osbourne

David Bowie
